After graduating from the MA course at University of Brighton in 1999 David has exhibited his work extensively throughout the UK in both Group and Solo exhibitions. He has been the recipient of several prizes, commissions and awards and has undertaken numerous gallery-based residencies. David's work is held in a number of private collections.

During 2006-7 David embarked on a considerable period of research and development of his artistic practice due to a substantial Individual Grants for the Arts award from Arts Council England, East and thanks to his selection as one of 13 artists on the Escalator Visual Arts scheme. This important period of time has enabled him to undertake research trips to the 52nd Venice Biennale, Documenta 12, Kassel and Sculpture Projects Munster by means of contextualising his practice within an International framework. David also initiated studio visits from many influential critics, curators and artists throughout this period.

More recently David has exhibited several framed works on paper and small wall-based sculptures at ARTfutures, Bloomberg Space, London and will be included in a group show, One Thing Against Another at Aspex, Portsmouth this Summer where he will be resident in a Butterfly House creating a site-specific sculptural intervention.
